Infinity and eternity clash against the evening sky as a million dreams and a million wishes fill the expanse of this young wanderer’s mind. The warm, incandescent lights of the homeward bound van behind him are a soft reminder of the journey ahead and the relentless, passage of time.

The horizon is vast with glimmers of future opportunity that are behind the darkest shadows of every mountain that represents our deepest fears. The distance between this moment and the unknown future is a blur that is reminicent of the difference between a sunrise and a sunset.

The past creates the present which shapes the narrative of the uncertain future as the young wanderer stands alone, lost in contemplation. Despite the harsh reality of these forests of despair behind us and the innumerable roads around us, the fading embers of light in the sky are a beautiful vestige of better days to come.

Just as day fades to night and the sun sets in the west and rises in the east, the concept of time is perpetual within the span of the conscious, human mind. The future can feel as shallow as the nearest puddle or as profound as the deepest ocean in perspective but always remember that the future in a person’s mind is just one of many stars in the night sky.
